I finally figured out why my foam armor kept cracking after 2 weeks of work.
Turns out I was using hot glue instead of contact cement on the edges, and a guy at the con told me straight up after my helmet split right above my eyebrow.

Ngl, hot glue is the enemy of anything that needs to flex. I had the same issue with a bracer once, it cracked right at the wrist after I spent a whole weekend painting it. @nancy_green is spot on with the E6000 though, that stuff saved my last project. I switched to contact cement and started roughing up the edges with sandpaper before gluing, and honestly the difference was night and day. Let it cure overnight like she said, and you'll be good.

Wait, you were using hot glue for a full two weeks? That stuff just gives up when it flexes even a little bit. If you try again, hit the edges with some E6000 or contact cement and let it cure overnight before you start painting.
