Hit $50 total on my last three cosplays and it felt like winning

I just finished up a cosplay for a local con here in Portland and added up what I spent on the last three characters I made. Came out to about $50 for all three combined including materials and small accessories. That surprised me because I usually think I'm spending way more per costume. The trick for me was thrift stores and a cheap hot glue gun I got for $8. I found a jacket for one character at Goodwill for $6 and dyed it myself with a $2 box of Rit. Another one I used cardboard and craft foam I had sitting around for armor pieces. Has anyone else here actually tracked what they spent across multiple builds and seen a number that was way lower than expected?

Saw a cosplayer on YouTube do the same trick with thrifted fabric and craft foam, money saver for sure lol.
