Figured out I was using way too much hot glue after 8 costume builds

I was layering hot glue on every seam for my cosplays thinking more glue meant stronger holds. Then I saw a video from a lady in Austin who used tiny dots spaced apart and her armor held up better than mine ever did. Turns out I was just making everything heavier and wasting sticks. Has anyone else had a moment where they realized they were overcomplicating a cheap build trick?

Wait, were you globbing it on full strength or did you at least let it cool a bit first? I've seen people try to use it like liquid weld and wonder why their fingers look like a glue monster exploded.

Learned that one the hard way. Tried to patch a crack in a mug and now it's got a permanent clear lump like a plastic tumor.
