Can we talk about the amount of foam you can get from a single dollar store yoga mat?
I was cutting up a mat for some armor pieces and realized one $5 mat from my local Family Dollar yielded enough 2mm foam for a full set of bracers, two pauldrons, and a belt, which completely changed how I plan my material budgets now.

My buddy tried cutting a mat with regular scissors and it was a total nightmare... the edges looked like a dog got to them. He switched to a fresh box cutter blade and ran it along a metal ruler, clean as can be. Now he swears by that method for everything, even thin craft foam.

Who knew the secret to affordable cosplay was hiding in the home fitness aisle? My local dollar store is about to wonder why their yoga mat stock keeps disappearing. Guess I'm making greaves next, because at that price, why not?
