Vent: Realized I was chasing the wrong broker metrics for 2 years

I was so focused on low spreads and fast execution that I ignored everything else. Then I lost $800 on a trade because my broker in Chicago had a margin call policy buried on page 14 of their terms. It hit me that I never checked their regulatory history or withdrawal complaints. Anyone else skip the fine print until it bites them?

Respectfully, I gotta disagree a little. Sometimes life gets in the way and you just trust things are on the up and up until something happens. Not everyone reads every line of every document.
