That one week in March when my E-Trade account went up 18%
Everyone keeps saying swing trading is a fool's game, but I had a streak last March that made me question that. I caught a biotech stock right before a good clinical trial result came out on a Tuesday. Then by Friday I had three more trades that all hit their targets within a day. It was just dumb luck honestly, not some strategy I figured out. But it felt great and it made me wonder if the "long term only" crowd misses out on these quick wins. Has anyone else had a random hot week like that where everything just clicked?

The swing trading vs. long term debate always gets heated when someone has a hot streak. I read a blog post from a risk manager who said most people's lucky weeks are just random noise, but he also admitted those streaks can mess with your head. Like, after I hit three winners in a row last spring, I started thinking I was a genius and almost doubled my position size on the fourth trade. That fourth one actually went against me fast, wiped out a chunk of the gains from the week. The long term crowd might miss quick wins but they also miss the gut punch of giving it all back just as fast.
