That $200 signal booster I fell for in Dallas back in 2018

I was trading forex from my apartment near downtown and kept getting dropped trades during news releases. Some guy on a forum swore this specific booster would fix it. Spent 200 bucks on it and installed it myself. Turns out my internet was fine, it was just my broker's server lag during high volatility. Anyone else get tricked by hardware fixes when the real issue was the broker's execution speed?

Did you try switching brokers before you bought the hardware? I was in the same boat back in 2019 with my old broker dropping me during news spikes. I spent forever tweaking my setup and buying a new router before I finally just moved to a different broker. Their execution was way better and my connection was fine all along. It was a hard lesson but now I tell everyone to test a demo account with a new broker first before throwing money at gear.

Did you actually test the new broker's demo account during a news release before switching? I wasted three months tweaking settings and buying different cables before I realized my old broker was just routing trades through a potato. A quick demo test with a different broker would have saved me the hassle and the cash.
