DAE remember reading broker review threads on message boards in 2009 vs how I do it now?
Back around 2009 I read broker reviews on old message boards where people typed long stories and you had to guess who was a shill. Now I mostly scroll a review site for 10 minutes on my phone and sort by newest, which is faster but I miss the back and forth. The switch happened for me a couple years ago when I got burned by a broker with a 4.8 rating that still had hidden fees. I started keeping a small notebook of what real users say in forums like this one in Columbus before I trust any star score. How do you all weigh a handful of long forum posts against a pile of short star reviews?
