Vent: The 'level everything perfectly' crowd is making jobs slower than they need to be

Heard a guy at the supply yard in Tulsa say a 1/8 inch drop over 10 feet is a total fail, but on a 90 degree day with wet mortar, that tolerance is costing us time and the wall still stands fine, so has anyone else stopped chasing laser precision on exterior work?
