Spent 6 hours chiseling out old mortar that should have taken 45 minutes
Turns out I was using a cheap chisel that was way too dull, and swapping to a sharp carbide one made the whole thing slide out like butter. Anybody else ever waste half a day on something that should have been fast just because of a bad tool?

Oh man, the old dull chisel trap. Bet you could have chiseled through concrete faster with a butter knife. I once spent an entire Saturday trying to cut a straight line with a rusty handsaw when a fresh blade would have done it in twenty minutes. Felt like a real genius standing there covered in sawdust and frustration. Worst part was my neighbor walked by and asked if I was building a birdhouse or a war memorial.
