Spent $45 on a laser level for a straight line and it was a total game changer

Tbh, I used it on a garden wall job and it cut my layout time in half. Anyone have a good brand for a more heavy-duty one?

Man, I used to think those were a total waste of money lol. But after borrowing one for a tile backsplash, I get it now.

Disagree completely, they're still a waste for most people. You can rent the same tool for a fraction of the price for a one-off job. Buying one just adds to the pile of junk in your garage.

Funny enough, a buddy of mine grabbed one of those cheap ones for a closet shelf job and it took him like an hour just to get it calibrated right. He ended up borrowing a proper brand from a neighbor and it was night and day. Not saying you gotta spend a ton but @the_nathan is right that you could rent something decent instead of gambling on junk.
