Spent $350 on a fancy laser level and it took me 3 hours to figure out why it kept giving me bad readings

Turned out the tripod I was using had a tiny wobble in one leg that I didn't catch until I put a bubble level on it myself. Anyone else run into gear issues that weren't the tool's fault?
