PSA: Stop soaking your bricks before laying them in summer heat

I see guys out here drenching their bricks in 90 degree weather thinking it stops them from sucking moisture out of the mortar, but it actually makes the mortar slide around and messes up your lines. Had a job in Phoenix last July where the customer made me rip out a whole wall because the bricks were too wet and the mortar never set right. Anybody else run into this on hot jobs?

Arizona is different - I always wet mine there and it works fine.

Wait, you've actually tried it wet in Arizona and it didn't ruin it? I always thought wetting it would mess everything up no matter where you were. Honestly, this makes me rethink how I've been doing things.
