Old foreman's pointing rule saved my bacon on a remodel
Got told by a retired foreman in Tulsa to always wet the bricks before laying in summer heat. Dismissed it for 2 years until a wall I set in 90 degree sun cracked along the mortar joints 3 months later. Re-did a 12 foot section last week after soaking every unit and it held through a rainstorm fine. Anyone else ignore old timers until it costs you a full day's tear out?
