My brand new trowel snapped mid float coat and now I'm second guessing cheap handles
Was buttering a block wall up in a subdivision near Dayton last Tuesday when my trowel handle just up and snapped clean off at the ferrule. I caught it before it hit the mud, swapped to my old beat up one, and still finished the course, but it cost me about 20 minutes I didn't have. Here's the thing though, half the guys on my crew say it was just a bad handle and the other half swear the new ones are all built thinner than they used to be. Do I go back to the same brand and eat the risk, or is it worth dropping $60 on a wooden handle that lasts? What's actually holding up for you all these days?
