I finally got called out for my mortar mix being too wet
Had a guy I've been working with for 2 years walk over last week and just say 'you're squeezing all the strength out of that mud.' He was right. I was adding too much water to make it easier to trowel, but the joints were sagging and I was cleaning up drips all day. He had me mix a batch with less water and work it drier and it held way better on the tuckpointing. Anyone else get a wake-up call like that from an old timer on the crew?
