Vent: My neighbor's "native" garden turned into a weed nightmare in 3 months
So my neighbor across the street decided to rip out all his grass and plant this "native prairie" thing back in June. He was so proud of it at first, posted photos on the community page and everything... looked pretty good with the coneflowers and little bluestem grass. Fast forward to September and that whole yard is just a mess of ragweed and bindweed, totally took over. The native plants he put in are barely visible now, maybe 20% of what he started with. I think he got bad advice from someone at the local nursery or just didn't know how much maintenance a young native plot actually needs. It's causing drama on our block because now seeds are blowing into everyone's garden beds. Has anyone else dealt with a neighbor's well meaning but poorly planned native garden project?
