TIL it took me 45 minutes to debug a fern that was just thirsty
I spent nearly an hour checking my Boston fern's soil pH, light exposure, and even repotting it because the fronds were drooping something awful. Turns out I just forgot to water it for three days straight and it was being dramatic, not dying. How long have you folks spent chasing a plant problem that had a dead simple fix?

I read that ferns droop quickly to save water, which explains their dramatic behavior.

I read somewhere that ferns will actually droop on purpose as a survival trick to lose less water when they're dry. It's like they're playing possum to save themselves but it just scares us into thinking they're dying. That's a good hour of my life I'll never get back, but at least the fern is fine now.
