That expensive grow light I bought for my succulents was a total bust
I spent about $120 on this fancy full spectrum LED panel from a brand I saw all over Instagram. Set it up over my collection of echeverias and lithops (you know, the living stones) about 3 months ago. After 2 weeks some of them started getting leggy and pale, which is the opposite of what I wanted. Turns out the light intensity was way too low for succulents even though the packaging said it was 'perfect for all indoor plants.' Has anyone else gotten tricked by those pretty marketing photos for plant lights?

I read somewhere that succulents need way higher PPFD than most budget lights can put out.

You mentioned it was 'perfect for all indoor plants' on the box, and that is such a common marketing line. Did you happen to check the actual PPFD or PAR readings for that light at different distances before you set it up? A lot of those Instagram brands slap that label on stuff that's really just meant for low-light foliage plants like pothos, not sun-loving succulents at all.
