Shoutout to the person who told me to dry my seeds before storing... lost a whole batch of basil seeds to mold before I figured it out

Honestly I always just toss mine in a paper envelope and leave em on the counter for a week. Never had mold issues but I can see how that would happen if they're still damp when you bag them up.

Whoa, wait, people are really overthinking this, huh? I've tossed bags of weed in a ziplock with a Boveda pack and left it for weeks without a single mold spot. The whole "oh no it's gonna rot in three days" panic feels like overkill. If you've got properly cured herb, it's pretty damn resilient unless you're literally dunking it in water. I've had buds sit in a mason jar for months just cracking the lid once a week, still fine. Feels like folks are acting like their stash is a mold farm waiting to happen when really 90% of the time you just gotta keep it basic and dry.

Wait, does that mean I've been babying my stash like a nervous helicopter parent this whole time? @the_jennifer talking about tossing bags in ziplocks for weeks is making me realize I probably overdo it with the humidity packs and daily jar checks... I had a half ounce of some outdoor stuff sitting in a shoebox for like two months once, forgot about it completely, and it was totally fine when I found it again... maybe a little dry, but no mold. Honestly my biggest problem is I end up smoking it all before it has a chance to go bad anyway, so I'm not sure why I stress so much.
