Rant: My neighbor's maple tree changed color 3 weeks early this fall
I've watched that tree for 12 years and it always turned in late October, but this year it went bright red by the first week of October right after that long drought in August. Has anyone else noticed their local trees shifting their fall colors earlier over the last few years?

totally skipped the color change" - YES. That happened with the maple by my bus stop. It went from green to brown in like a week and just dropped everything. I swear the weather's been so bipolar lately the trees don't know what to do.

Watched that tree for 12 years" - man that hits different because my neighbor's oak just dropped all its leaves by mid-September for the first time ever, totally skipped the color change. I think the weird weather patterns are messing with their internal clocks or something.
