My trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden blew my mind with their carnivorous plant display

I drove down to the Atlanta Botanical Garden last month and spent like 2 hours just staring at the pitcher plants and Venus flytraps in their greenhouse. They had this massive Nepenthes rajah with pitchers the size of my forearm, which I didn't even know could grow that big outside of Borneo. Has anyone else seen crazy large carnivorous plants at a garden near them? I'm thinking about starting a small terrarium setup now but dont know where to begin.

My buddy tried one and accidentally grew mold in his sneaker.

That "blew my mind" is a bit much, isn't it? I mean, they're just plants that eat bugs. They're interesting, sure, but mind-blowing? You can pick up a Venus flytrap at most hardware stores these days for fifteen bucks. And starting a terrarium because you saw one big pitcher plant sounds like a quick way to throw money at a problem you don't fully understand yet. Most people who jump into those setups either kill everything within a month or end up with a lot of dead gnats stuck to the side of a jar. Before you go buying all kinds of lights and distilled water, maybe just keep a simple potted sundew alive for a few weeks first.
