Had a terrible week when all my propagations rotted at once
Lost 12 out of 15 cuttings in a single day because I overwatered during a cold snap and didn't notice until the stems turned black.

Ugh that cold snap thing is brutal. Same thing happened to me last winter with a batch of pothos cuttings I was so excited about. I had them in this little greenhouse box on my windowsill and thought the extra humidity would be great but it was basically a swamp in there. By the time I noticed the stems were all mushy and slimy, it was way too late. I honestly think the biggest mistake was not checking on them every day just a quick peek would have saved the whole batch. Now I have this rule where I stick a finger in the soil every single morning like a weird ritual. It feels silly but it works.

Last summer I killed three golden pothos cuttings because I kept them on a shelf right above my radiator. Didn't even think about the heat rising up and cooking the roots. Came home one day and the leaves were all droopy and yellow. Felt like an idiot. Now I check the temperature near every single plant with one of those little laser thermometers before I put anything new down.
