Debate: Do you water your pothos from the top or bottom? I always bottom watered until I saw a friend's plant thriving with top watering and now I'm second guessing everything
I had a golden pothos for 4 years that was always kinda sad and droopy until my neighbor pointed out the soil was bone dry at the top even though the tray had water, which made me realize bottom watering was leaving half the roots thirsty the whole time, so which method actually works better for you all?

Wait, four years? You had a pothos for FOUR YEARS and it was just droopy the whole time? That's wild. I had the same thing happen with my marble queen for like a year before I figured out the soil was basically two different zones - wet at the bottom, crusty at the top. Now I do a mix, top water until it runs out then let it sit in the tray for a bit.

Gosh, that reminds me of something similar. My friend @ramirez.caleb, I had a snake plant that just sat there looking sad for nearly two years. Turns out I was watering it with tap water and the minerals were building up in the soil. Switched to filtered water and it perked right up in a month. You'd think after all these years I'd know better, but houseplants keep teaching me lessons.
