Bought a 'rare' philodendron online and got a basic houseplant

I paid $75 for what was listed as a Philodendron 'Pink Princess' with high variegation. The picture showed these amazing pink leaves, you know? When it arrived after a week, it was just a regular green heartleaf philodendron, the kind you can get at any garden center for maybe $15. I tried to contact the seller on that plant marketplace site, but they ghosted me completely. I'm out the cash and stuck with a plant I didn't even want. Has anyone else been scammed by a fancy plant listing online? How do you check if a seller is legit?

Is it really that big of a deal? You got a live plant that will still grow, just not a pink one. Maybe do more research on sellers next time before dropping that much cash.

Exactly, @green.jessica. It's about getting what you paid for. If you order a red car and they deliver a blue one, it's still a car, but it's not what you bought. People save up for specific plants, like a pink princess philodendron, because they want that look. A regular green one just isn't the same, even if it's healthy. Sellers need to be held to their word.
