Why does nobody talk about the little chalkboard in bookshop windows having the real info
Stopped outside this shop on Bardstown Road in Louisville last Saturday just to kill 10 minutes, and the window display itself was nothing special, just a few paperbacks face out. But the little chalkboard leaning in the corner said the owner had sold 47 copies of one local author's book in a single month, which I thought had to be made up. I asked the guy inside and he pulled up his sheet and showed me the count was real, 47 copies of one title in a shop that maybe fits 15 people at once. Turns out he hand sells it to almost everyone who comes in, and it just sits in the window with no fancy props at all. Now I look for the small handwritten signs more than the big displays. Has anyone else noticed a shop window where one tiny sign did more work than the whole setup?
