The cook at Dot's Diner in Missoula put 14 books in the window with all the covers facing backwards
Walked past Dot's Diner on Higgins Ave three mornings in a row last month and finally asked the cook about it. He said he flips every cover backward so people pick books by the first line instead of the cover art, and he rotates the whole stack every Monday. One of them was a beat up copy of The Long Goodbye and I ended up buying the thing from him for $4. Has anyone else seen a shop do the backwards cover thing, or is this just a Montana deal?
