PSA: A librarian in Tulsa told me my DNF list was a reading log, and now I finish way more
Last month I was complaining to the librarian in Tulsa about quitting my 7th title that season, and she said, 'Honey, that's not a failure list, that's a reading log.' I started writing one line about why I bailed, like 'made it to page 60, the pacing was slow,' and it made me notice I was quitting anything that took more than two evenings. Now I give every pick three real sessions before I bail, and I finished 4 in a row. Has anyone else tried keeping a quitting log, and did it change what you stick with?
Honest take, short books win. My quitting log showed me most of my DNFs were 400 pagers that I never had a real shot at anyway. Give a 250 page book three sessions and you are basically done.
