I rolled my eyes at audiobooks for years until a 14 hour drive to Omaha changed my mind

I was so wrong about audiobooks being 'cheating' that I now listen to them every single day after my buddy Dave made me try The Martian during that trip and I didn't even notice the miles go by.

Totally get this. I used to think audiobooks were just for people who didn't like reading, but now I listen while doing dishes or driving and it's honestly the best.

Oh man, I'm with you @evan_anderson. So what was the FIRST book you listened to that actually made you a believer? For me it was their narration of "The Hobbit" - that guy's voices for the dwarves really sold me on the whole format.
