Warning: I read the last page of A Little Life at a Starbucks in Portland and had to sit in my car for 20 minutes
I was on page 600 something and my break was almost over so I flipped to the end just to see if things got better for Jude. Big mistake. I closed the book and just stared at my cold latte for a minute, then walked out to my car in the parking lot on 23rd and didn't start the engine for a good while. I still haven't gone back and read the middle part. Has anyone else accidentally spoiled a book for themselves like that, or am I the only one who does this to myself?
Reading the last page first is a pretty normal thing people do. My mom does it with every book she picks up and she's been fine. You spoiled one book for yourself, that's not some big tragedy, you just learned you don't like doing it. Pick up something lighter next time and read it in order.
