Finished A Little Life three months ago and I still can't look at a photograph of a group of friends the same way
The way it broke down the unspoken weight people carry in friendship just gutted me, like I had to re-examine every conversation I've ever had with my own friends after that.

Totally agree with you about that "unspoken weight people carry" thing. I read it last year and for weeks after I kept catching myself wondering what my closest friends were actually going through that they just don't talk about. It really messes with your head in a good way, makes you want to check in on people more.

Three weeks ago I checked in on my buddy Tom and found out his marriage was falling apart, he never would have said a word if I hadn't pushed a little. @finleythomas, that book completely rewired how I look at the people closest to me, makes you realize most folks are fighting battles you know nothing about.
