Warning: I used to cut my own book board with a utility knife and it was a mess

For years I'd just score and snap the board, but the edges were always rough and uneven. About three months ago, I finally bought a cheap guillotine cutter from a local shop for $80. The first clean cut I made felt like magic, no more sanding for an hour. Has anyone found a better tool for this that doesn't cost a fortune?

Yeah, a good paper cutter is a game changer.

Totally agree, abbyl49. The cheap ones just mangle the edge. A solid steel ruler and a sharp blade is all you really need.

Not sure if you've tried this yet @thomasm41 but a framing square works surprisingly well as a straight edge too.
