Took a class with a master finisher and dropped my old glue habit

For years I only used PVA on every spine, thought hot glue was for kids and cheap notebooks. Then I spent a Saturday watching a binder in Asheville work with a 160 degree glue pot, and the way it held those rounded backs changed my mind. I switched to a small batch of hot glue for my hardcovers and the joints flex way better. Anyone else stubborn about glue types and then flipped after seeing it done right?
