Rant: My $40 book press was actually a 3D printed prank

Got a clamp press off an auction site last month, looked solid in the photos but it shattered into 14 pieces the first time I tightened it down on a 300 page stack. The listing said cast iron, guess they meant cast plastic, anyone else get burned by cheap tools pretending to be legit?

Man, that's brutal. Same thing happened to me with a "vintage" finishing press, the whole jaw just crumbled when I gave it a good squeeze, turned out to be resin or something. These auction listings are getting wild, you basically have to assume every photo is a lie these days.
