Yeah, local stuff often works way better than fancy imports. Got to check the texture before you buy though.

Goat skin from an Istanbul market outlasting pricey leather is wild. I paid a fortune for imported calfskin last year and it cracked within months. Oscar390 might be onto something with local materials having better texture.

My buddy grabbed a belt from a street vendor in Marrakech for like ten bucks. That thing looked rough at first but it softened up perfect and he's worn it almost every day for three years now.
