Little girl at the library asked if I could fix her worn out copy of Charlotte's Web

She had taped the spine so many times it was just a sticky mess. I showed her how to reback it with book cloth and she watched every single step for 20 minutes without moving. Have you ever had a young kid really pay attention to what you do?

Used to think kids just wanted quick fixes and screen time, but watching her focus like that changed my mind completely. Have you ever had a kid surprise you with their patience like that?

Have you seen how locked in they get when it's something they actually care about? @harper_owens, man, I totally get that. My niece spent a whole afternoon building this little model bridge once, and I was just sitting there watching her like "who are you and what did you do with the kid who can't sit still for a cartoon?
