Just realized my bone folder was leaving marks because I was using it wrong

I was working on a leather cover for a journal and kept seeing these faint shiny lines after folding. My teacher at the Portland bindery pointed out I was pressing way too hard and dragging the tool. She showed me to use light, firm pressure and lift it between strokes. Has anyone else had a problem with their bone folder marking up nice paper?
