Just messed up a spine lining and fixed it with a coffee break
I was at my workbench last Tuesday trying to glue a spine lining on a leather journal. The glue was too thick and I ended up with a big wrinkle right down the middle of the spine. I stepped away and grabbed a coffee for 20 minutes, then came back and used a bone folder to carefully lift and smooth it out while the glue was still tacky. It's not perfect but it's flat enough that no one will notice once the covers are on. Has anyone else had luck fixing a mistake like that with just time and patience?

A little time off can really save a tricky glue job.

Three times I've had to walk away from a tube of E6000 because it just wasnt setting right. @barbara_sanchez88 really nailed it - sometimes you gotta step back and let the glue do its thing before it turns into a sticky mess. Last week I was gluing a ceramic mug handle and got so frustrated I put it in the fridge for 20 minutes. Came back and it held perfectly. That little break can save you a whole lot of headache.
