Chatted with a retired binder at the library who said I was rushing my endpapers

She showed me how she spends 15 minutes just pressing each sheet flat before glue and now I actually feel the difference in how smooth the joint sits, has anyone else had a similar reality check from an old timer?

Yeah that patience with pressing makes a huge difference in the final result.

@river_adams25 you're spot on with that. I remember working on a batch of pressed flowers a while back and rushing through the pressing part. Ended up with a few that were just a mess because I didn't wait long enough. The ones where I actually took my time and let them sit came out way better, no comparison. It's one of those things where slowing down really pays off.
