That $3 library sale cart in Dayton turned out to be a goldmine
I stopped by a library sale in Dayton last Saturday and almost skipped the beat-up cart in the corner since it looked like mostly old textbooks and moldy paperbacks. Turned out there were 4 first-edition hardcovers mixed in with the junk, and I walked out with a full paper bag for $3. Has anyone else found real gems in the cheap carts that look like pure garbage at first glance?
Doubt four first editions were just sitting in a junk cart for $3, since those usually get picked over before the sale even starts. Maybe they were book club copies or just marked "first edition" without being worth much. Not saying you didn't get a good deal, but "goldmine" feels like a stretch until you check what they actually sell for.
