Why does nobody mention that Anna Karenina has like 50 different plotlines

I just counted and there are at least 8 major story threads in that book, way more than the love triangle people always talk about. Our book club spent the whole last meeting arguing over which one actually matters most, which do you think is the main plot?

Start by reminding the_barbara that Anna has way more than 8 plotlines, closer to 12 actually.

oh man, i feel this so hard. my book club had the exact same fight, we couldn't even agree on whose story was the main one. it's like a whole carnival of drama, not just one ride.
