Spent $40 on a "rare" 1970s sci-fi novel that turned out to be a bootleg reprint

Found it at a flea market outside Portland, guy swore it was an original printing with the misprinted cover. Got it home, checked the copyright page, and the publisher didn't even exist until 2008. Anybody else get burned by fake collectibles at those roadside stalls?
