Pro tip: how I finally got through Anna Karenina on my third try
I kept stalling out around page 200 because all the Russian names blurred together. Then I made a simple character map on a sticky note just listing the main 5 names and their nicknames. I stuck it in the front cover and finished the whole 800 pages in 3 weeks. Has anyone else tried a trick like that for tough classics?

Yeah, that name issue is a real problem with Russian novels.

My buddy swears by that sticky note method too. He tried reading Moby Dick twice and gave up around chapter 30 because he kept forgetting who was who on the ship. Once he taped a tiny character list inside the cover, he blasted through the rest in a couple weeks and actually liked it.
