Our club switched from one big book a month to two short ones, and the talk got way better
For about two years our group in Akron read one long book a month, and half of us never finished it. Last June we tried 2 shorter picks instead, about 150 pages each, and the talk went from 40 minutes of people guessing at endings to a real back and forth. Now we pair one novel with one nonfiction book and the two usually argue with each other, which is honestly the best part. Has anyone else split their picks like this, or did it just make your group twice as confused?
