Our club picked a 700 page novel and only 3 people finished it, so we spent 90 minutes talking about the snacks
Last Tuesday our book club met at Dana's place in Fresno to talk about the massive Civil War novel she picked for us. I got to page 200 and gave up, and it turned out only 3 of the 9 people there actually read the whole thing. So instead of talking about the book we spent most of the night ranking the cheeses people brought and arguing about whether a cheese plate counts as dinner. Dana got a little mad and said next time she picks something under 300 pages. Do other clubs set a page limit before voting, or do you just suffer through whatever wins?
