My book club hit 100 members last week and I still can't believe it

We started with just 4 of us in my living room back in 2018, and now I get emails from people in 3 different states asking about our next pick. What really got me was when a woman drove 2 hours just to discuss our latest read about a lighthouse keeper. Has anyone else's small group ballooned way bigger than you expected?

Capping the in-person groups and using a simple Google Form for RSVPs saved my sanity when my hiking group blew up from 20 to 300. Did you set any limits on the online discussion space or just let it ride?

Did you set up a waitlist or did people just keep showing up? When my knitting circle went from 12 to 80, I had to start capping the monthly meetups and do a lottery system for the in-person ones. It sounds like you need a way to manage the demand, maybe a private Facebook group where you post the book choices and let people RSVP for discussion slots. I also found that rotating between a big online chat and smaller in-person groups helped keep things from getting too crazy. Just be careful not to burn yourself out trying to please everyone, it's okay to say no sometimes.
