Just realized the bookstore on Maple has a whole shelf for books our group gave up on
I was killing time at that little used bookstore on Maple Street last Saturday and found a shelf labeled "Did Not Finish" right by the front counter. The owner said members of three different book clubs drop off their abandoned picks there, and she had 22 books on it by the end of the month. It got me thinking about how our group never admits when a pick is dragging, we just all show up and pretend we read it. Half our meets would be better if we had a rule for calling it at the 50 page mark. Has any group here set an actual page limit for quitting a book, and did it make meetings better or did folks get weird about it?
