Wasted $80 on a cheap knockoff pipe threader that stripped on the first job.
I figured I'd save a few bucks on a new threader for a water line repair at a plant in Gary, but the thing's teeth gave out halfway through a 2-inch pipe and I had to buy the proper Rigid one anyway, so has anyone found a decent budget brand that actually holds up?

Oh man, that's the universe charging you the stupid tax. I've got a whole drawer of those kinds of lessons. It's like the cheap tool is just a down payment on the real one you end up buying anyway.

Yeah I used to buy the cheap version first to save money, but @milab75 is totally right. Now I just get the good stuff right away, saves so much hassle. You ever try that?
