Vent: 1998, working a recovery boiler in Baton Rouge, tube rolled loose on my watch
Was on a 6 hour shift rolling tubes when one came back on me at 2am and I had to cut it out and redo the whole joint while the crew waited. An old hand named Ray showed me how to feel the roller chatter by hand instead of trusting the gauge, and that trick kept me out of trouble for the next 20 years. Any of you still roll by feel or is it all gauges now?
