That $900 boiler repair job last fall was cheaper in the long run than the DIY fix I did 2 years ago

I patched a tube sheet leak myself back in 2022 and it held for maybe 6 months before blowing out during a pressure test, costing me double in downtime and parts, so has anyone else found that paying someone with a proper tube expander actually saves money on the bigger jobs?

Hire it out if you don't already own the specialized tools, simple as that.
